ATTENDEE COMMENTS FROM TYPECON2001
"I thoroughly enjoyed TypeCon. A very professional, well-executed
conference. Not being a type designer and not knowing anyone from
SOTA, I came to Rochester with a little aprehension, but my fears
were quickly laid to rest by all of the friendly people there. From
the technical workshops to the informative panels, my brain was
crammed with inspiration and data (much of which will probably gel
in the next six months or so)."
Mario Estioko- Dept of Design, CSU Sacramento
"Thanks for the great meeting, which as a newcomer to SoTA I vastly
enjoyed. The program was well balanced between the classicists and
the young turks. I look forward to next year."
Daniel H. Garrison -Professor of Classics, Northwestern University
"Let me begin by saying I had a great time at TypeCon. Most session
topics and speakers were excellent--a lot of thought must have gone
into getting the right combinations of subject matter and people.
And the reliance on volunteers made me, at least, feel much more
a part of the event than is usual at larger, more "professional"
conferences. Finally, the cool printed programs were a real help
with their maps, restaurant descriptions, etc."
"For what it's worth, I thought TypeCon 2001 was the best
conference of any
sort I've ever attended--and I've been to many."
Terri Stone-Macworld
"It was a great conference, I felt really excited to be hanging
out and getting to know many of the participants and overall really
good about the next one!"
-Stuart Sandler- Font Diner
"Great job, well done!
I had a ball."
