The Society of Typographic Aficionados (SOTA) is a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization devoted to type, typography, and the related arts. 
TypeCon2010: Babel SOTA takes TypeCon back to the west coast as we travel to sunny Los Angeles. LA is a fabulous city filled with culture, educational opportunities, and entertainment. Receive TypeCon News SOTA Catalyst Award The Society of Typographic Aficionados is pleased to announce a new award for young people who have created original work in type design, type history, or other areas related to typography. The award recognizes a person 30 years of age or younger who shows both achievement and future promise in the field of typography. TypeCon2009 took Atlanta by storm! We welcomed hundreds of type lovers to the beautiful city of Atlanta for TypeCon2009: Rhythm, SOTA’s eleventh conference. TypeCon2009 took place at the Grand Hyatt Atlanta in Buckhead, July 14-19, and was presented by SOTA in partnership with the Portfolio Center, the Art Institute of Atlanta, AIGA Atlanta Chapter, and the Center for Design Study.
